The Western WallThe Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall, is the remaining wall of the Second Jewish Temple, which was thought to be built by King Solomon, and later King Herod. It is outside the Temple Mount, which is thought to be the holiest site, and serves to be the site of mourning for the Jewish people at the destruction and loss of their holy temple. It is an important site for Jewish pilgrimage since it is as close as one can get to the Temple Mount and the Foundation Stone where the temple known as the Holy of Holies once stood, but is now replaced by the Dome of the Rock, and therefore the Jewish people see a divine presence within the Wall.

Hurva SynagogueLocated in the Jewish Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem, the Hurva Synagogue has been rebuilt many times after Persian invasions and Muslim raids. The synagogue has been an emblem of Judaism and Jewish heritage and the arch is significant in the portrayals of Jerusalem by artists.

The Foundation StoneThe Foundation Stone is known as the holiest site in Judaism, and Jews pray facing towards this site in which the Ark of the Covenant was placed and the stone in which the High Priest sprinkled blood and incense during the first Yom Kippur sacrifice. The hole located on the top left corner enters into a cave below known as the Well of Souls, derived from the legend that the spirits of the dead awaiting Judgement Day can be heard within the cave. Because the Holy of Holies, the Ark of the Covenant, is believed to have been placed on the stone, it is a significant part of the Jewish faith.
